This week we had our cultures special and there was an impressive selection of books from different cultures.The Book of the week was a book called Bend It Like Beckham which was also an award winning film which is also available to take out on DVD.
This book is about an Indian girl called Jess who wants to play football but her family are very disapproving. There are lots of high and low points but i will not reveal the ending (even though most people have seen the film).
There is a huge clash of cultures here as Jess's family hate her playing football but it is a great and enjoyable read. i urge everyone to read it and if you dont like reading, just go and watch the Film
