Manga School with Selina Lin [26/01/10]

Jake now has the most wins of Book of the Week. This competativeness has made me think of a new feature that i can bring to this site. More news on this later in the week.
So this was a great review and Jake couldnt quite believe that he had won again (I even had to tell him that 4 is more than 3 - now we see who can count). Anyway this book is a great book that really teaches you how to draw Manga. We also established that when you are going to draw this Manga you should do it on paper becuase anywhere else is against the law.

Manga is proving to be one of the most popular drawing styles currently in vogue. Selena Lin has set out to provide a straightforward introduction to shojo (the more feminine type of manga).
This book looks at all the key techniques such as selecting tools, developing characters, composing panels, inking, Photoshop toning. Throughout the book she uses her own work as a guideline.
Instructions are clear, step by step guides and are well illustrated. It is very informativeand helpful and is especially suitable for beginners. Selena has created an extremely useful book which will be much in demand bywould be manga artists
Through a series of lessons, this work teaches the basics of manga creation, from tools to anatomy to panel composition to inking technique. It includes tutorial on photoshop techniques and toning instructions. It also includes tutorials on colouring techniques and a gallery of Selena's own works.
